Developing a DNA test to identify Nepenthes sex before flowering
Most Nepenthes do not reveal their sex until they flower. We are developing a polymerase chain reaction, or PCR, test that uses a small leaf sample to look for a male-associated genetic marker.
The method is in controlled beta validation. Routine commercial testing is not yet available.
